One of My Favorite NYC Stays: The Hyatt Regency Jersey City on the Hudson

🌆 Why I Stay Across the River: A Favorite NYC Base at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City on the Hudson

This is not a paid partnership—just a genuine recommendation based on personal experience. I’m sharing this because I truly enjoy staying here and think others might too! When I visit New York City, I love being in the heart of the action—but I also appreciate having a quiet, scenic space to return to at the end of the day. That’s exactly why the Hyatt Regency Jersey City on the Hudson has become one of my favorite places to stay. Located just across the river from Manhattan, this hotel offers stunning skyline views, quick transit access, and a calm atmosphere—ideal for both solo travelers and couples.

On a side note, I will be back at this hotel in July to catch Manhattanhenge.  Check back afterwards for that story.

💑 A Great Spot for Couples Travel

If you're traveling with a partner, this hotel strikes the perfect balance between romance and convenience. Picture this: sipping morning coffee by the window while watching the sun rise over the Manhattan skyline, then hopping on the PATH train to explore the city together. At night, you can return to your cozy room away from the crowds, maybe even grab a drink at the hotel bar, or take a quiet walk along the waterfront. It feels like you’re getting two destinations in one: New York City and a serene riverside escape.

🏨 The Hotel: Relaxation with a View

The Hyatt Regency sits right on the waterfront, with many rooms featuring panoramic views of Lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. The hotel itself is modern, clean, and spacious—far more comfortable than most comparably priced Manhattan hotels.

It offers:

  • Floor-to-ceiling windows in many rooms

  • A 24-hour fitness center

  • An indoor pool

  • On-site dining and a relaxed lobby lounge

Whether you're unwinding after a day of sightseeing or just enjoying a quiet night in, the space feels more like a retreat than just a place to crash.

🚆 Getting Into Manhattan Is Easy

Located right next to the Exchange Place PATH station, the hotel gives you fast and easy access to the city. You can be in Lower Manhattan in about 10 minutes—perfect for visiting the 9/11 Memorial, Battery Park, or catching a ferry to the Statue of Liberty.

I’ve stayed here multiple times and never felt like I was “too far” from the action. In fact, I enjoy having a little space between me and the constant buzz of the city.

🛍️ Local Food & Quick Eats

The hotel has its own restaurant (great in a pinch), but you’ll also find plenty of places to eat within walking distance in Jersey City. And once you hop into the city, NYC’s food scene is, of course, limitless. Still, it’s nice to have local coffee shops and casual dining close by for when you want to stay in the neighborhood.

📸 Bring the Views Home

If you fall in love with the skyline views like I did, you might want to take a piece of it home with you. One of my favorite photos from this area is now available in my Etsy shop. It’s a skyline image captured from Jersey City just before sunset—a moment that perfectly reflects why I keep coming back to this spot.

🧳 Final Thoughts

If you’re looking for a peaceful place to stay while visiting New York—especially as a couple—I highly recommend the Hyatt Regency Jersey City on the Hudson. You’ll still be just minutes from the heart of Manhattan, but with more space, better views, and a touch of calm that makes every trip feel a bit more like a vacation.
