Meet the Photographer Behind the Blog: Zach's Travel + Photo Journey
Hi there, and welcome! I’m Zach — a landscape and travel photographer, explorer of vibrant cities and wild places, and the storyteller behind this blog. If you’ve landed here, you probably share my love for wanderlust, the golden light of sunrises and sunsets, and capturing unforgettable moments with a camera in hand.
My journey as a photographer started long before I turned it into a business. It began on quiet hikes, road trips through the mountains, and weekends spent wandering through colorful neighborhoods with my camera slung over my shoulder. Over time, I realized that photography wasn't just something I loved — it was how I connect with the world and share it with others.
This blog is where I blend that passion for photography with a deep love for travel. I created it not only to showcase my favorite photos and destinations, but also to inspire couples, solo adventurers, and dreamers to hit the road themselves. Whether it’s a sunrise shoot in Acadia, a neon-lit stroll in Las Vegas, or a peaceful weekend in the Blue Ridge, I want this space to be your guide to finding magic in every corner of the map.
You’ll also find helpful travel tips, budget-friendly ideas, photo inspiration, behind-the-scenes stories, and links to my Etsy shop — HighlandPhoto — where you can bring some of my favorite shots home with you.
Some quick things to know about me:
-
I travel with my wife, Cecile, and together we love finding quirky motels, mom-and-pop diners, and scenic trails.
-
Natural light is my favorite filter.
-
I have a soft spot for places like the Outer Banks, Utah’s national parks, and any historic town with brick streets.
-
I believe the best souvenirs are photos and stories.
-
My goal? To one day travel full-time as a photographer and inspire others to chase that dream too.
